Excellent, you sir are a scholar and a gentleman. Apparently Crabtree and Evelyn and Art of Shaving both ship, so that beats the three and six hour drives, respectively.

Also added you to the blogroll.

Daniel-- Check my blog at http://mantic59.blogspot.com: there's a set of links about halfway down the right side of the page titled "Bricks and Mortar Product Locators" that might help you pin down some products locally.

Hey, you're very welcome! I never registered over at B&B but you have a great reputation with the Basenoters. I thought they were really well done, especially for something that came out of Windows Movie Maker; you've got a touch with it that I really respect. You've also got me looking into finding a Best Badger Brush and Merkur HD around here (not easy in the backwards but friendly land of Kentucky).

Thanks for the comment, I'm honored.

It worked really well, I figured the C.O. Bigelow is made by Proraso, and they're regarded very highly, so why use the $3 stuff from Wal-Mart? After doing the cold rinse (shockingly cold thanks to the eucalyptus in the shaving cream), applying the Shave Secret gave a pleasant warmth, and none of the burn my previous aftershave typically gave. I reapplied with three more drops a few hours later and that's all I needed for the rest of the day; at six drops a shave that little bottle is going to get a lot of mileage.

Oh, who is this? Someone from basenotes? Leave a real name. :P

"and some sort of miracle product that allows me to get an entire shave’s worth of lubrication out of 3 to 5 drops. Right."

"Right" is what I said too when I first tried this stuff. "Right" turned out to be right. Not even 6-10 drops (or more) lubricated my face well enough to shave. The description on the website (http://www.shavesecret.com) calls it "highly absorbing." If it gets absorbed quickly, I really don't see how it can lubricate the skin sufficiently.

Good idea though using it as a soothing, healing aftershave. I imagine it would work for that at least.
